We offer workshops and consultation focused on helping smaller membership churches deal with new realities, challenges, stresses, and opportunities facing them. Workshops involve Bible study on missional practices of the New Testament church, spiritual discernment and disciplines toward renewal, identifying cultural and demographic changes, and building a congregational plan to address new realities and insights. Our approach is to help congregations handle the very real stresses and anxieties of these days by “trying smarter, not harder” while also embracing the scriptural challenge to focus on mission and discipleship rather than institutional survival.

We have offered a number of workshops “Beyond Survival: God’s Vision for the Small Church” in various locations in Wisconsin in cooperation with the Wisconsin Council of Churches ( with the next one scheduled for Oct. 1, 2011 in Franklin, WI. We are also offering an extended version of this workshop at the Presbyterian (PCUSA) Synod School July 24-29, 2011 in Storm Lake, Iowa (
